Focused Shockwave Therapy

Are you ready for this?

A brief explanation of the process can be found below, but in short, the shockwave
process very quickly stimulates the natural healing process in your body. for a comparison, if our laser therapy is a nice drive down a shady lane in a convertible, then the shockwave is a monster truck jumping and flattening obstacles.

We ask that question because Focused shockwave therapy is high intensity and isn't exactly comfortable. Although it is non-invasive, drug-free, and non-toxic, the treatment itself can be painful, however as the wise person said, "no pain, no gain." The pain during treatment is due to high energy soundwaves passing into your injured tissue at a velocity greater than the speed of sound.

A brief explanation of Focused Shockwave

Daravida Focused Shockwave.jpg

As we mentioned, high-energy soundwaves are passed into into your injured tissue from a handpiece, which makes a clicking sound with each wave. The frequency and depth of the waves can be adjusted according to your needs and the area of your body being treated.

Your injured tissue is forced to respond by a process called mechanotransduction. That's a big word to describe the way the cells in your body respond to outside forces, such as exercise or massage.  The difference here, and what makes focused shockwave so effective, is that the force is targeted and precise, causing your injured cells to begin healing almost instantly.

As your body responds to the treatment, your pain will gradually lessen as you heal from the inside out.
